Title: AVP - Software Engineer

Location: 1414 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28203

Duties: Lead a team of engineers to implement a modern technology ecosystem to support various functions within MIS. Support multiple lines of businesses or applications of medium to highly complex (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) technologies at a global level with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility. Provide organization, mentorship, and oversight for establishing and maintaining principles, responsibilities, standards, procedures, and accountability. Help develop baseline technology standards, tools, platforms, and processes in support of the overall technology and data strategy. Manage and control costs associated with support, managing, and onboarding new applications while growing the value of the support to the organization. Work closely with business and technology colleagues to create services built using modern, consumer focused solutions. Use advanced DevOps practices to enable fast feedback loops using automation, containers, infrastructure as code, feature flags, deployment testing, and automatic rollbacks. Manage global teams, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure services are delivered with the highest quality and within specified timeframes. Communicate events and their impact to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership and drive their tactical and long-term resolutions. Develop and manage a high performing and empowered teams. Provide leadership through proper implementation of processes and tools that best align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related technical field plus three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or a related position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with the following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions in Java to support enhancements and bug fixes in existing and new applications; applying knowledge of Core Java, Multithreading concepts, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with Sybase, Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, SQL Server Business Intelligence, SQL Server Reporting Services, Java, Spring Boot, JBoss, Websphere, .NET, Unix, DataStage, ETL, IBM MQ, HTML CSS, Confluence, and Jenkins, Splunk, AppDynamics; working with IDE tools and build management tools, including Maven and Source Control (Subversion, GitHub, and Bit Bucket); working with microservices and design patterns; and applying knowledge of Agile methodology.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $144,747 to $180,250/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
