Skills and Competencies

  • At least 1 year of IT industry experience, preferably in a financial services organization.
  • Strong interest in cyber security incident investigation and response processes.
  • Technical, analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment; must be detail oriented.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Fast-learning skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts (24/7).

Education

  • BS or BA degree, preferably in technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+ or CEH are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely review of security events originating from any source, including managed security services, internal tools, and internal or external reporting.
  • Investigate security alerts, using SIEM, SOAR and other technologies; collect evidence and work with teams to isolate and/or remediate as necessary.
  • Communicate and escalate potential incidents to Incident Response team.
  • Analyze, correlate and action on data from subscription and public cyber intelligence services, develop tactics to combat future threats.
  • Keep abreast of current security threats, events, technologies, vendors and other aspects of the cyber threat landscape. Propose changes or enhancements to our security posture where appropriate.

About the team

Moody’s Cybersecurity team is responsible for aligning policies and procedures with business requirements to balance risk effectively. The team develops, enforces, and monitors security controls, policies, and procedures, and delivers security services. They set the strategic direction for security and align with stakeholders across the company.

The Associate Cybersecurity Engineer plays a crucial role in investigating and escalating alerts that require technical analysis, such as network intrusions and malware infections identified by the Cybersecurity team.

The team actively seeks talented individuals to drive the execution of its enterprise technology roadmap, offering diverse career opportunities in areas such as application delivery, architecture, software engineering, IT security, risk management, infrastructure operations, vendor management, and service management.
