The Compliance & 3rd-Party Risk unit at Moody’s is at the forefront of utilizing data analytics to empower businesses with efficient risk management strategies in the KYC, Supply Chain, and Trade Credit domains. We are in search of a Director of Data Analytics to join and scale our data analysis function. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analytics concepts such as business intelligence, dashboard development, statistical analysis, and experimentation; as well as a passion for working with business stakeholders to identify problems, implement solutions, and assess their impact.
You will be in a leadership role helping to shape the future of our organization’s customer reporting, product analytics, and operational reporting strategies. You will also interface with senior leaders and a wide variety of team members to independently plan and execute on your vision and strategic goals. In your day-to-day you will initially be contributing hands-on work to a diverse project portfolio you select, with people management and leadership scaling up in the future.


The Work:

  • Work with business leadership to scope the data analytics function, and to identify priorities, garner support, and implement solutions.

  • Lead, scale, and nurture a team of data analysts, ensuring their effectiveness in delivering solutions and long-term career growth.

  • Develop and maintain a strong degree of hands-on knowledge across the entire existing data analytics portfolio, while being able to initiate and launch brand new initiatives.

  • Contribute to a portfolio of projects supporting the development and maintenance of strategic analytics initiatives, ensuring they support business objectives and deliver enhanced customer experience.

  • Facilitate collaboration between data analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams to streamline data access and dashboard deployment for business intelligence and experimentation needs.

  • Lead project squads leveraging the design, plan, build development cycle, promoting and ensuring adherence to best practices in project management and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Be an advocate for data-driven decision-making patterns and educate the business on prudent and meaningful areas to deploy and utilize data analytics resources, ensuring they meet both organizational needs and regulatory compliance.

  • Work with business leadership to identify, scope, obtain support, and execute on a variety of data analytics solutions, leveraging the right tool from a toolbox of BI tools, dashboarding, A/B testing, through to advanced analytics and beyond.

  • Strategize the use of cloud platforms like Tableau, Power BI, and Google Analytics to enhance data visualization, analytics practices, statistical rigor, and deliver highly robust data products within a data mesh.

  • Stay current and promote adoption of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains at the forefront of data analytics best practices in the compliance space

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of hands-on work in data analytics, business intelligence, A/B testing, or similar and 1+ year of experience in people management or technical leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and management skills with the ability to independently influence organizations, people, and projects.

  • Expertise in explaining complex analytics work to non-technical stakeholders, with a strong foundation in analytical tools.

  • Proven ability to identify, scope, and measure work which delivers meaningful business impact.

  • Proven ability to manage, influence, and deliver on projects and/or ability to coach and nurture individual contributors.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $168,100.00 - $243,700.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
