Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct research, testing, and verification of credit rating models and frameworks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency/understanding of Python (or other coding language) for data analysis and modeling tasks; knowledge of VBA in Excel is desirable.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate identified issues to the corresponding people.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly organized with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in handling quantitative data and complex tasks.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of Financial Modeling: Basic understanding of econometric and mathematical modeling techniques in a financial context is preferred.

Education

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or experience in econometrics, mathematics, financial modeling, or quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Model Verification Team in checking and validating financial models.
  • Help document verification processes and results
  • Participate in training sessions to learn about the company, its operations, and model verification techniques.
  • Attend workshops on data analysis, modeling, and relevant software tools.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc quantitative analysis and model development tasks as needed
    (i.e. document business logic, training material, user guides , etc. )

About the team

The Methodology and Model Development Group (MMDG) at Moody's is dedicated to the development and maintenance of credit rating methodologies and assessment frameworks. MMDG is responsible for creating and maintaining Credit Rating Quantitative Tools (CRQTs), including models, scorecards, and other analytical tools used in the rating process. These tools and methodologies are integral to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Moody’s credit ratings.

Annual base salary gross: 1.00 to 5.00. Applicable to Lithuania candidates: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moody’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of Moody’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include the following: Medical, Personal Accident, Life Insurance and Time Off.
