The Banking Business Unit is a leading SaaS solution provider in the financial services industry, generating $1.2+ billion in annual revenue and serving over 2,000 clients in more than 50 countries. As the head of Banking Technology Operations, you will lead the strategy, development, and execution of SaaS operations and DevOps/CloudOps initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and availability of our SaaS platforms while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of DevOps principles, cloud architecture, and the unique challenges of the financial services industry.

The head of Technology Operations also has responsibility for the integrity of our SaaS solutions. The maintenance of these solutions requires a strong controls-based mindset to ensure we provide the stability and security our customers expect of Moody’s. In close collaboration with our Risk Management teams, you will ensure that we meet obligations to internal and external stakeholders and that we have a strong framework for incident response.

We find success together and strong collaboration with other Product & Technology teams, Platform, Risk Management, as well as Customer Engagement teams in different regions, is essential to success in this role. As a leader in our Technology group, you will ensure we share and absorb best practices from other Moody’s Analytics teams and actively contribute to central governance activities.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a global DevOps and CloudOps strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team of 100+ DevOps and CloudOps engineers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Infrastructure and Automation:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Drive infrastructure automation to ensure fast, reliable, and automated software deployment.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all cloud and DevOps practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security measures and controls.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, and remediate them.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with product & engineering teams, central platform & operations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing updates on key metrics, risks, and projects

Monitoring and Performance:

  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Own SLA measurement and management, analyze performance, identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Optimize resource usage and costs associated with cloud infrastructure.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for Cloud IT operations, ensuring cost-effective resource usage
  • Implement effective and transparent cost management in collaboration with product lines
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency with major cloud service providers such as AWS (mandatory), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github, Github Actions and CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with ‘Infrastructure as code’ tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and related containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch and Datadog.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of security principles and practices in cloud and DevOps environments, including compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and clients.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Qualifications:

  • Minimum master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field from an internationally recognized institution.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience within large Technology and SaaS providers.
  • Successful experience deploying and managing multi-tenant SaaS applications, including scalability, uptime, and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, compliance requirements, and specific challenges faced by the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams
  • Willingness to travel

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $230K - $300K, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
