Skills and Competencies

  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) - analysis, reporting and modeling and business intelligence tools. Data science is a plus.
  • Superior skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Exposure to multidimensional reporting applications is essential (e.g. Hyperion Planning and Essbase).
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Detail and data quality oriented and capable to summarize and effectively communicate findings/analysis to senior stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in English in both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of basic accounting concepts.

Education

Studying towards post-graduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other quantitative field (e.g. MBA, CPA/CA, CIMA, ACCA)

Responsibilities

  • Support analytical, forecasting, month-end, and variance analysis reporting, as well as Ad Hoc projects based on business needs.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports and variance analysis to identify key focus areas for management promptly.
  • Aid in inputting forecast and budget projections and adjustments into Moody’s financial reporting system.
  • Support business planning processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, and deliver driver-based presentations for senior management discussions.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and global contacts, effectively communicating with the business to build strong working relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of new reporting solutions and identify key focus areas for management.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for process enhancements and reporting standardization to drive efficiency across business planning activities.

About the team

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) has the responsibility of providing intermediate and advanced support through all phases of the financial planning and analysis processes, including business partnering and working on cross functional projects. The SFA is a detail-oriented and strategically minded individual of the finance team able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting. The SFA should also have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be able to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner. The SFA will be supporting the Moody's Ratings Expense FP&A team.
