The Role:
Senior Financial Data Analyst performs a range of data, analytical and research services that contribute to the overall credit analysis function performed by the structured finance rating groups. Prospective candidates will have a good understanding of structured finance as well as a basic understanding of capital markets. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong organizational skills, demonstrate attention to detail as well as their ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:
Perform analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach. Examples of work include:
* Capturing data from servicer reports, ensuring its accuracy and timeliness.
* Monitoring data entry by outsourced resources, providing feedback, and developing training materials to prevent errors.
* Collaborating with ratings and support analysts to review data and adjustments necessary for Ratings and Research.
* Publishing research reports where required and coordinating with analysts and transaction counterparties for timely data receipt.
* Managing the filing and uploading of research documents and servicer reports.
* Responding promptly to queries from investors, servicers, and internal stakeholders.
* Exploring opportunities for automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency in manual processes.
* Applying Moody’s Ratings standards to data, producing valuable inputs for the rating and research process, including adjusted data, key indicators, ratios, charts, and graphs.
* Reviewing financial reports and documents related to issuers’ performance to understand requirements for data capture and adjustments.
* Taking the initiative in participating in projects and process improvements aimed at enhancing the team's capabilities.
* Providing guidance to junior team members on resolving data queries and improving data intake processes

Skills:
Credit
* Macro understanding of methodologies
* Good understanding of all technical and operational aspects for assigned deliverables
Stakeholder Management
* Interact with lead and support analysts independently to resolve or clarify straightforward issues
Project Management
* Develop working knowledge of more than one project/deliverable with guidance

Qualifications:
* Bachelors/Masters in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Business/Accounting
* Relevant experience of 1-3 years in credit/financial data analysis and interpretation; experience in structured finance will be an added advantage
* Individual must be organized, dependable, and able to multi-task and manage priorities, display initiative, and have the ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
* Microsoft Office skills, in particular intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Fluency in English and Japanese is essential
* Fluency in Chinese and Koren language beneficial
