At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are-with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

About The Team
Moody’s Analytics Revenue Accounting team (MARA) oversees the revenue recognition for Moody’s Analytics. The MARA team’s profile and activities are a hybrid function that involves technical accounting expertise together with contract reviewing skills and analytical analysis.
The team is involved in reviewing contracts per ASC 606 during the contract negotiations, together with our internal partners, the Sales, Legal and Professional Service teams. This requires from you the ability to review a legal contract and interpret its clause on an accounting standpoint.
Once new contracts are signed, the team analyses them and ensures there are properly setup in the systems. During month end, and for the population of contracts that are not automated, the team will trigger the revenue based on fulfilment.
While closing the books during month end, the team reviews our various analytics. We review our flux vs the prior months and vs the forecast. Our role here is to tell the story behind the numbers and ensures the data is right. We must make sure the revenue is right and we don’t hesitate to step in and record any required adjustment.
We thereafter switch back to all our various accounting activities such as reconciliations, and perform our SOX controls.

We are building today the finance of tomorrow; we want people that are driven and want the same thing as we do.

The Role
The team is organized by portfolio of clients, you will join few team members under a portfolio that manages a set of clients, they will be your "buddies". This allows new team members to not feel lost when they join us and improve their onboarding.
Each team member has full visibility of their contribution and take ownership of their portfolio. When a question arises for a client under your portfolio, you will have ownership to provide insights.
As part of our automation journey, our Business Intelligence Revenue team is working closely with the portfolio owners to hack and automate our processes. Every team member in the MARA team can raise his/her hand to take on one of these side automation projects. You will have the ability to choose a side project and also the technology you want to use/learn (e.g. Alteryx and PowerBI), in parallel of your day to day activities. This is a great opportunity for people to learn a new BI tool and have a first exposure to project management, while helping the team advance in our transformation journey.
