Software Engineer

Role/Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage messaging solutions using Amazon MSK (Managed Streaming for Kafka), ActiveMQ, and Amazon SQS (Simple Queue Service).
* Collaborate with development teams to integrate messaging technologies into applications, ensuring reliable communication and data exchange across microservices and distributed systems.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize messaging infrastructures to achieve high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency.
* Develop and enforce best practices for messaging, including message schema design, message security, and disaster recovery strategies.
* Participate in the evaluation and selection of messaging technologies and tools to meet evolving business requirements.
* Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on messaging patterns, message-driven architectures, and event sourcing.
* Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in cloud messaging technologies, evaluating their applicability to our environment.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing messaging solutions using Amazon MSK, ActiveMQ, and Amazon SQS.
* Strong understanding of message queueing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
* Proficiency in cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS, including services related to computing, storage, networking, and security.
* Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
* Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in complex, distributed systems.
* Strong communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
