Title: Staff Software Engineer

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business - telecommuting permitted)

Duties: Interpret business requirements and provide feedback from a technical perspective and provide estimates for user stories and tasks. Implement and test features based on the requirements. Refactor design and implementation for stories owned, based on requirement changes. Define and maintain coding standards, and guide team members to comply with these standards. Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to troubleshoot defects. Collaborate with build and release engineers to prepare packages and resolve environment issues. Investigate and analyze the root causes for software issues reported by clients.
Author and maintain technical documents. Review code of junior team members, provide technical guidance. Implement best engineering practices and mentor junior engineers. Conduct training sessions and proactively share knowledge in or across teams. Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or a closely related technical field plus at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an
Engineer, Developer, or Technical Analyst/Lead/Consultant, or in a related position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with the following: providing technical support, including troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving defects in production, UAT, and stage environments; applying knowledge of multithreading concepts, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment; JMS, JDBC, SQL/PLSQL, Unix, Shell, Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Spring Batch, IntelliJ, and automated testing tools; working with AWS cloud based data processing (Glue, lambda, Step Functions) and data stores (Postgresql, DynamoDB, s3); and using build tools and version control systems, including Maven, GIT, and Subversion. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $152,859 to $230,850, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
