Title: SVP - Software Engineering
Location: 1414 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28203
Duties: Develop and execute a roadmap to deliver on our vision of a modern software platform for the ecosystem. Recruit, develop, and oversee a high performing team of platform engineers to execute and operate at scale. Campion the target state architecture and migrate databases from on-premises to the cloud. Lead platform initiatives involving timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered with the highest quality and within specified timeframes. Develop baseline technology standards, tools platforms and processes in support of the overall Platform strategy. Work closely with business and technology colleagues to create platforms built using modern, consumer focused technologies. Operate and control costs associated with licensing, support, and vendor contracts while providing value to the organization. Represent Platform team with both internal and external auditors. Manage technical debt effectively by making strategic decisions about when to prioritize short-term fixes versus long-term solutions, and ensuring the team has time to address technical debt in their workload. Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Assist in automating the processes of software development and deployment to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors. Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure the datacenter and cloud platforms can recover from potential disruptions, such as a major outage or a cyber-attack. Develop strategies around the use of microservices and containerization technologies like Kubernetes enabling the platform to be more modular, scalable, and resilient. Domestic and international travel required. Destination impossible to predict.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, or related technical position responsible for performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support enhancements and bug fixes in existing and new applications; applying knowledge of Core Java, Multithreading concepts, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with, Postgres, Informatica, Unix, Shell, GitHub, Jenkins, BitBucket, Oracle, Confluence, Kubernetes, JBoss, Websphere, and Jenkins; working with open source code and frameworks; and using build tools, including Maven and GIT; understanding and design capability for enterprise scale platforms for financial systems with requirements for high availability, redundancy, and auto-recovery; Building complex monitoring systems that enable best-in-class operations teams.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $155,688 - $293,150/year, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
